I'm not comfortable with https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/23546#discussion_r279107963 not being addressed. At the very, very, very least this should properly support concurrent submissions not overwriting each other without the user having to do that. And at least a separate bug should be filed to do best-effort cleanup of this stuff.
