Compile using nightly build
I have tried to compile Welocome.mxml using 0.96 nightly build.
But some problems. Appreciate your advice.
Comipilation is being done on Windows 10.
The command I used is:
“H:apache-royale-0.9.6-bin-is-swf\royale-asjs\js\bin”\mxmlc Welcome.mxml
And I set env variables as follows:
SET
“ROYALE_COMPILER_HOME=H:apache-royale-0.9.6-bin-is-swf\royale-asjs\js\bin\..\..”
SET “ROYALE_HOME=H:apache-royale-0.9.6-bin-is-swf\royale-
Two similar errors are shown. One is
H:apache-royale-source\defaults error: H:\frameworks\royale-config.xml
cannot be opened.
What’s wrong with this setting?

Hi T-San,
An mx:Module does not get an index.html. Only mx:Application. It is similar to Flex. Even in Flex, a Module did not get an HTML wrapper. A module is expected to be loaded by an Application.

T-San,
Are you saying that at the office you are not using the mx:Application tag? It should work.
Instead of describing in words, it might be best to show actual code and console output.
If you are using the -debug flag, you won't get a bin/js-release version. What is there might be from an old compile that failed.

Welcome.mxml used at the office is copied from Browser.

Hi T-San,
Under bin\js-release is a minified Welcome.js and Welcome.min.css. There should be an index.html file as well that will load those. If nothing displays then check the console for errors.
The compiler options can be listed via mxmlc --help advanced. We don't have good descriptions for the options. For now, you can look up more information in Configuration.java, JSConfiguration.java and JSGoogConfiguration.java.

Hi T-San,
The files you mentioned are written out by the compiler and are affected by JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS on Windows. I use a Mac for most of my work and don't see a problem on the Mac.

Have you set the Environment Variable:
JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS=-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
That might help with corrupted characters.

Welcome.mxml must be the last compiler option.
I'm not sure why you are getting an error in the second configuration. I tried on a non-existing file:
js/bin/mxmlc +configname=flex Welcome.mxml
And got:

See where it says "Loading configuration: ... flex-config.xml". I'm not sure why you didn't get that.
Make sure there is an MXRoyaleJS.swc in frameworks\js\libs
Also try adding -compiler.targets=JSRoyale

To use the mx classes you will need to add
+configname=flex
to your compiler options.

The reported error was fixed.
However, the following error was issued. Welcome.mxml is from
https://github.com/apache/flex-utilities/blob/master/TourDeFlex/TourDeFlex3/src/Welcome.mxml.
By the way, I haven't ever raise an issue so far. Would you please point me
the instruction on how to do that?

Hi T-san,
bin-js-swf is for building SWF and JS
bin-js is for JS only.
Looks like there has been a problem with bin-js for a while and nobody has noticed. Please open a GitHub issue. In the meantime, open your frameworks\royale-config.xml and remove all of the entries from the library-path.

You shouldn't need to specify environment variables for ROYALE_HOME/ROYALE_COMPILER_HOME. Remove them.
Then open js/bin/mxmlc.bat in an editor and remove the "echo off".
Then post the console output.

I rarely see Windows paths with a ':' and no '\' right after. Try specifying an absolute path such as:
H:\apache-royale-0.9.6-bin-is-swf\royale-asjs\js\bin\mxmlc
