unsupportedVersionError: xmlbean plus jdk1.4.1

I have tried 1.0.4 and 2.0.0 beta version of xmlbeans. Both of them gave me
the error when I ran scomp,

 

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:

org/apache/xmlbeans/impl/tool/SchemaCompiler (Unsupported major.minor
version 48.0)

 

  I'm using JDK1.4.1 by the way.

 

 What is the problem? Does xmlbean supports jdk1.4? Thanks for your help.

Check your JAVA_HOME and which binaries you are executing.
