docBase error on Tomcat 5.5.12

I have recently upgraded Tomcat from 5.5.9 to 5.5.12.  I had no problems
after the upgrade while I was using a mySQL database.  Once I started
using MS SQL Server, I had to add a resource to Tomcat to get it to
work.  I did this by creating a context.xml file with the information
and placed it in the {tomcat base dir}\conf\Catalina\localhost
directory. The context entry is:

 

<Context path="/SVOIC" docBase="SVOIC"

        debug="5" reloadable="true" crossContext="true">

 

I left the default context.xml file in the {tomcat base dir}\conf
directory unchanged.

 

 

Every now and then, I get the following error when I start Tomcat: 

 

WARNING: A docBase C:\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\SVOIC inside the host appBase
has been specified, and will be ignored

 

And then the final error message:

 

Document base C:\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\context does not exist or is not a
readable directory

 

The only way I have been able to resolve this is to uninstall and
reinstall Tomcat 5.5.12.  However, when I distribute my war file to
another computer, I always get the above errors and can not resolve it
by doing the uninstall and reinstall.

 

Has anyone else experienced this and has been able to resolve it
permanently?

 

I am running on a XP Pro SP2 computer using MS SQL Server 2005 using
jdk1.5.0_05.
