Xerces Performance

Hi,

I am wondering if performance improvement is on Xerces roadmap in the upcoming release?

>From the following benchmark, Xerces is trailing other parsers in term of performance. Or the data below is out-of-date? They are using Xerces 2.0.1 and I think the latest is 2.2.0.

Xerces Vs IBM XML Parser for Java

Could someone please tell me what is the difference between Xerces 2.2.1 and XML Parser for Java (xml4j) from IBM?

Is XML4j based on xerces 2? From the web site, it said it made some performance enchancements.
