[jira] Closed: (MPGENAPP-4) Make genapp pull templates from repository instead of being embedded in a plugin

Arnaud Heritier closed MPGENAPP-4:
----------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Will not be fixed in maven 1.X
I think it's already possible with the archetype plugin in maven 2.X.
A workaround in maven 1.X is to use the property "maven.genapp.template.repository" but it doesn't allow you to automatically download it. Is it important ? It's not something that you do everyday to create a project from the genapp. A good documentation to say where you can download the template and how to use it isn't very hard to do.

> Perhaps we can provide a facility that would pull the template from the repository whether remote or local.
> We can also add the following targets:
> genapp:install = installs the template
> genapp:create-template = creates a template project based on an existing project
> genapp:test-template = tests the template by creating an instance of the template in the target directory, and runs the tests in generated instance.
