Hyukjin Kwon updated SPARK-18636:

Labels: bulk-closed (was: )
> UnsafeShuffleWriter and DiskBlockObjectWriter do not consider encryption / compression in metrics
> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: SPARK-18636
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-18636
> Project: Spark
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Spark Core
> Affects Versions: 2.0.0
> Reporter: Marcelo Vanzin
> Priority: Minor
> Labels: bulk-closed
>
> The code in {{UnsafeShuffleWriter}} and {{DiskBlockObjectWriter}} only wraps the file output stream when collecting metrics, so it does not count the time it takes to compress and / or encrypt the data. This makes the metrics a little less accurate than they should be.
