[Issue 126390] New: Free version can't save documents with Mac OS X
Yosemite
https://bz.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=126390
Issue ID: 126390
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Free version can't save documents with Mac OS X
Yosemite
Product: Installation
Version: 4.1.0
Hardware: Mac
OS: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P5
Component: update notifications
Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
Reporter: degjr@bellsouth.net
After 'upgrading' to OS X Yosemite on my Mac, I opened Open Office as usual. A
popup told me that some features won't work with this operating system unless
Open Office was updated also. Did that. Opened a text window and a popup said
the free version of Open Office can't save documents, and that I had to get
another version from the Apple App Store. Went there; it said the current
version costs 27 pounds sterling (UK money). Yet Apache says Open office is
always free.
Is it or isn't it (free)?

Apache OpenOffice IS free. I am not a Mac user so I can't address how or why
this pop-up originated. It may be related to where you originally got Apache
OpenOffice 4.1.0. It would best for you to download the latest version, 4.1.1.,
FREE from our official download site --
