Equals using Boolean?

I am trying to implement an equals tag with a boolean value, ie
something like:

<logic:equal  name="account.hasPaid" value="true" />

etc...

Note : account.hasPaid() returns a boolean value.

But it doesn't work. Not being a java expert, I am not sure how to
either implement this, or how to fool  the java into doing it... can
anyone help
