I changed it from {code} to {code:java} and now it works. But I think that it was the resulting re-export of the page that fixed it.

So all of you having this issue, please re-export your whole space and see if the problem persists.

    Stupid confluence. Explicitly using {code:java} instead of just {code} (which implies java) works.
