[jira] Created: (INFRA-2749) The WSDL at https://issues.apache.org/jira/rpc/soap/jirasoapservice-v2?wsdl refers to http://issues.apache.org/jira/rpc/soap/jirasoapservice-v2

The WSDL at https://issues.apache.org/jira/rpc/soap/jirasoapservice-v2?wsdl refers to http://issues.apache.org/jira/rpc/soap/jirasoapservice-v2
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: INFRA-2749
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-2749
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Bug
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
            Reporter: Gary Dusbabek
            Priority: Minor

It should refer to https://issues.apache.org/jira/rpc/soap/jirasoapservice-v2 (note the HTTPS) so that dumb ws clients (SOAPpy, I'm looking at you) don't crash and burn.

Not easily - it's generated by the com.atlassian.jira.web.servlet.rpc.LazyAxisDecoratorServlet class and as a free non-profit license user, we don't build from source. I'm not seeing a wsdl file available, either in the file tree or inside any of the jar files. Or anything with 'jirasoap' in the name.

Probably due to the http proxypass to the backend, is there a specific problem your having?

Yes. SOAPpy doesn't handle the 302.

An easy mitigation would be to modify the wsdl to point to https instead of http. Is this possible?
