Slight problem in 1.2.0 tarball?

Hi all,

The 1.2.0 tarball includes the files

-rw-rw-r-- 500/500 1347 Aug 5 15:08 2004
subversion/bindings/java/javahl
/src/org/tigris/subversion/javahl/InputInterface.java
-rw-rw-r-- 500/500 1377 Aug 5 15:08 2004
subversion/bindings/java/javahl
/src/org/tigris/subversion/javahl/BlameCallback.java
-rw-rw-r-- 500/500 1261 Aug 5 15:08 2004
subversion/bindings/java/javahl
/src/org/tigris/subversion/javahl/CommitMessage.java

and a few more; for some reason these are in a directory "subversion"
and not "subversion-1.2.0". Should I be worried and move these files
into the "subversion-1.2.0" folder at an appropriate spot? Or is this
*not* a packaging error?

Peter

PS: Subversion built fine under Solaris 2.6 even with these files in a
different directory, so I am assuming I can just forget about them?

That version of GNU tar is 10 years old!

I used

   GNU tar 1.11.8

on Sun/Sparc/Solaris 2.6 (which I think is what SunOS 5.6 is called
these days).

The tarball is fine - in that it works for most people - but the problem is
that there are several different 'standards' for how a tar file should store
filenames which are greater than 100 characters in length.

Please let us know what program you are using that is misbehaving, and try
using a different program to unpack the tarball.

Max.
