[jira] [Created] (SPARK-12961) Work around memory leak in Snappy library

Josh Rosen created SPARK-12961:
----------------------------------

Summary: Work around memory leak in Snappy library
                 Key: SPARK-12961
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-12961
             Project: Spark
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Josh Rosen

See https://github.com/xerial/snappy-java/issues/131; it looks like there is a memory leak in the {{snappy-java}} Java which we should work around in Spark. We could wait for a new version of the library, but I think we should just make a one- or two-line change in Spark to mask the issue.
