Ensuring featuresBoot to execute only first time

Hello,

It is possible to configure karaf in way to execute the features specified
in the featuresBoot in org.apache.karaf.features.cfg only the first time and
not during the subsequent karaf re-starts?

Did you use official distro? What I'd do is debugging, but unfortunately i
don't have much time this week. Do you have some logs from first run?

I just checked the state.json under the bundle 11
(mvn:org.apache.karaf.features/org.apache.karaf.features.core/4.2.3) and
found that the "bootDone" was still false. Perhaps that is my problem. Any
ideas why bootDone is still false?

I found that the first time karaf starts, installs all the standard & custom
features and operates properly. But if I stop and start karaf again, it
throws errors such as missing dependencies. If I comment out the
featuresBoot from the file org.apache.karaf.features.cfg after stopping
karaf, the karaf starts up and runs properly. So, I was assuming that the
contents in featuresBoot are causing this behavior.

Doesn't it always work like that? "state.json" in bundle data of
features.core bundle contains "bootDone" flag...

$ jq . bundle11/data/state.json
{
  "bootDone": true,
  "checksums": {},
  "features": {
    "root": [
      "feature:feature/[4.2.6,4.2.6]",
      "feature:deployer/[4.2.6,4.2.6]",
...
