[jira] [Commented] (ACCUMULO-992) Document ACCUMULO-259

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-992?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13635274#comment-13635274 ]

Christopher Tubbs commented on ACCUMULO-992:
--------------------------------------------

Probably important to mention in these docs that:

# pluggable authentication is still new, and that other authentication/authorization/permissions handler schemes other than the default are "use at your own risk",
# the PasswordToken is the new way of using passwords, and
# tokens can be constructed by calling their "init" method with a set of properties that token type requires, after using the no-arg constructor, or by calling another constructor
# tokens types that are built requiring knowledge of the user principal should accept the principal as one of its properties, and that this is independent of Accumulo's requirement for both the user principal and the authentication token
# the type of token one needs to construct is probably PasswordToken, unless told otherwise by the administrator who created your account
