logs of apex application

Hi

I am new to Apex.

Following the documentation:

I had run, yahoo-finance-demo-3.5.0-SNAPSHOT.apa , but wondering how to monitor the application and its logs.

Can someone pls guide me on how and where can I find the logs ?

FYI, I ran the application on Multinode hadoop cluster and when I tried on Apex CLI, with the command get-app-info I am seeing all the operators in the status INACTIVE and tuples processed is 0!!

Can someone pls guide me…

Raja,

The installer is actually shipped by DataTorrent, it is called RTS. You can download the community edition to get the gateway. All 3rd party references for apex can be found here: http://apex.apache.org/downloads.html#third-party-downloads

Just install it on one of your hadoop nodes and you should have access to all apex applications and logs from its UI. You will find install instructions on the download page.

Ashwin.

I have not used any installer!

I just cloned core & malahar from git and did mvn clean install!!

Will I still be able to access the GatewayUI ?

If so, can you pls share any guidance on how I can access the Gateway UI ? Or any referral links ?

Thanks a lot in advance !!

Raja,

If you have used the installer, you will have access to the gateway UI where you can visually monitor the applications and directly drill down to the containers and logs in them.

Otherwise, the get-app-info command from dtcli shows the yarn application id for the application. You can check the RM container logs for the application. The container logs for each container should have a log file called dt.log where you can check apex related logs.

Regards,
Ashwin.
