[jira] [Resolved] (NIFI-3081) add property to set ignoring hostname verification check in ssl context service

David Handermann resolved NIFI-3081.
------------------------------------
    Resolution: Won't Fix

Closing this issue given the lack of activity and the potential security issues associated with disabling hostname verification.  The SSL Context Service interface supports custom implementations that could support disabling hostname verification, but this does not look like a feature that should be supported as part of the standard distribution.

> In development environments it is pretty normal for users to use self signed certificates, which may not always match the domain name of the service. It would be useful to have a property that disables hostname verification.
