4.10 release marketing
Hi,
With the 4.10 release 'imminent', we need to think about how we can
get the maximum bang for our buck.
What is the status of Scott's appointment? As he is supposed to be
central to our communication efforts, it seems logical he would be
involved in the release process.
Do we have a plan for the release, or are we just going to let it
happen? I think this time we should have a coordinated release, with
the press and everyone with a voice involved.
It is time to take the project to the next level and attract some more
corporate interest and maybe even sponsorship, as well as get more
people involved. We've shown Flex has successfully made the transition
from Adobe to Apache, survived the move to git and all the while we've
continued to improve and expand it. Apache Flex is here to stay and
lead the way forward for cross platform application frameworks. But I
think we can still do better...
Ideas?

That is correct, which means he now has committer status. Om, can you
check that he knows that?
And the NOTICE to the board about his PMC membership went out yesterday,
so in a couple of days he will be added to the PMC list.

Last week I found out that Adobe archived both my blog and the flex team
blog because of inactivity, which means you can view the old posts, but I
can't create new ones. I've spent the last week trying to get permission
to have them restored to active status, but so far, haven't been
successful. This morning I decided it is time to sign up for a blog
somewhere else.

Hi,

His ICA been accepted and he now has an Apache account I believe. But just like the rest of us he's a volunteer, we shouldn't expect him to do all of the work :-)

Feel free to add anything to to here.

That way we know to do it again next time.
Obvious we need to update the web site and someone should update the Apache Flex wikipedia page, we should see if Adobe can put anything on there blogs are a couple of things that spring to mind.
Thanks,
Justin
