Alias not working.

Has anyone ever tried to use an alias that did not begin with www.?
Every time I do that it doesn't work unless I make it the name of the
Host element.  But then if I do that no other Alias will work.  So, I
end up with multiple Host elements.  I think I'm going to join the
developer list and see about fixing that one.  Because it is kind of
annoying.  So, I hope that's not going to be called cross posting when I
start working on it.  That problem has been around for some time now.
I've really noticed it more since I have went to a Tomcat only setup
instead of httpd and tomcat.
