Are there any other optimizations to choose from?

It is possible if not likely to blindly tune things in the wrong direction,
achieving anti-optimization instead of optimization. There is always a
tradeoff, and the closer the performance gets to physical limits, the more
difficult it gets to balance those tradeoffs.
Have you done any Java profiling to see where the RTT is coming from? How
fast is fast enough? Which variables can we manipulate here? Which of those
has the most influence on the principal component of the RTT you found
while profiling? What are the reasonable physical limits of the hardware
you're running?
To achieve fine results, a careful and methodical approach will be
necessary. Ignite is also designed to achieve better performance by
throwing more/better hardware at the problem. I advise against tuning
without evidence to support the change. Also, lets talk about the
expectations. What's in the technology stack?
