Xerces-J vs. XML4J (from IBM)

Hi,
I am not a developer of Xerces-J. I am a user but since there is no Users
mailing list, I am posting my question here.

I am trying to decide whether to use XML4J or Xerces-J.
I tried one of the samples (SAXCount) and the time taken by Xerces-J was
about 3 times (490 ms) the time taken by XML4J (160 ms).

Since Xerces-J was built from XML4J(as far as I know), what are the
additions/differences between them that account for the slower performance?
Is there some URL where I could find the differences listed?

THanks
Mitun

I find that extremely hard to believe since they are the same
codebase. The only thing that I can think of is that you are
comparing radically different versions of the same codebase.

I'd have to know more about what you're doing in order to make
a real assessment.
