Re: [apache/jmeter] Hdrhistogram (#380)

Hello Felix,
Do you plan to continue on this one or is there some issue on your side ?

Thanks

Hello,
Ideally LatencyUtils would be better, but if you're ready for a
HdrHistogram patch we can start with it.

Thanks for contributing.

Hi,

I'm sorry I still couldn't find some time to continue the work on
https://github.com/apache/jmeter/pull/380

Can we continue with HdrHistogram for now or do we also need to integrate
LatencyUtils?

Hi Philippe,

Do you mean whether I can continue the work done by Felix to integrate
HdrHistogram?

I'm also studying HdrHistogram now for a different project.

Hello Isuru,
It would be great if you found some time to contribute a PR.

I think HdrHistogram will be enough for calculating statistics for now.

As I understood, LatencyUtils is a good project to measure latencies within
your application. LatencyUtils project has a way of tracking and correct
the effects of pauses in an application. LatencyUtils project still uses
HdrHistogram to calculate min, max, avg, percentiles, etc. We can
definitely work on integrating LatencyUtils later.

The only issue is my time :)

I wanted to look at the LatencyUtils mentioned by Vladimir, but didn't
find the time to do so.

But it would probably be OK to look at the LU after the change.

And I am not sure about one functionality, where two stat objects are
"added" together. I am not sure, that the math is correct there.

If this one holds back a release, I would plead to plan this change for
the next one after.
