We have done many bug fixes since 0.94, so it is worth a new release.

Hi Andrew,

    Set AXIS2C_HOME environment variable pointing to the location where
you have
installed Axis2C.

        AXIS2C_HOME='/your_path_to_axis2c'
        export AXIS2C_HOME

    Thanks.

Re: [Axis2][VOTE]Axis2/C 0.95 Release Plan

Hi there,

I'd like to try out the 0.95 code but the trunk is currently failing
to build on my Linux system - the libraries all seem to build fine,
but the samples fail with:

In file included from echo.c:16:
echo.h:20:32: error: axis2_svc_skeleton.h: No such file or directory
echo.c: In function 'axis2_echo_echo':
echo.c:47: warning: unused variable 'buffer'
make[3]: *** [echo.lo] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/ajborley/workspace/Axis2C/samples/server/echo'
make[2]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/ajborley/workspace/Axis2C/samples/server/echo'
make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/ajborley/workspace/Axis2C/samples/server'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

Is there a tagged version somewhere I should be using instead?

Thanks
Andrew

I compiled and run this sample in my Linux box without any problem.But

This warning get when try to build with gcc version 4.1. This issue
 was reported at axis2c-241. We are in a process of fixing it.

Though it is not recommended , I would say two methods to try out.

1. Try with gcc version 4.0 :(

2. You can switch off -Werror in woden.

in woden/configure.ac

    CFLAGS="$CFLAGS -ansi -Wall -Wno-implicit-function-declaration
    -Werror"

change it to

    CFLAGS="$CFLAGS -ansi -Wall -Wno-implicit-function-declaration"

Re: [Axis2][VOTE]Axis2/C 0.95 Release Plan

Posted by Andrew Borley <aj...@gmail.com>.
Hi all,

I'm trying to verify AXIS2C-209 against the trunk code, but
unfortunately I'm still failing to build from the trunk (see trace
below).

Instead I took 0.94 and built and ran the test_service sample that was
attached to that jira. I still get a server crash on Windows with the
message: Unhandled exception at 0x7c918fea in axis2_http_server.exe:
0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x00000010.

This happens after the test service code returns control to Axis. The steps are:
 - client calls to service
 - service is invoked and calls the math service
 - response is returned from the math service
 - AXIS2_SVC_CLIENT_FREE is called & is successful
 - the response axiom node is returned to Axis by the test_service_invoke method
 - server crashes

I expect I will see the same error in 0.95 code & I'm working to get
this built. Does anyone else get this behaviour?

The failure when building trunk:

http://www.apache.org/foundation/voting.html

Describe a point about release voting.

<quote>
Votes on whether a package is ready to be released follow a format
similar to majority approval -- except that the decision is
officially determined solely by whether at least three +1 votes were
registered. Releases may not be vetoed. Generally the community will
table the vote to release if anyone identifies serious problems, but
in most cases the ultimate decision, once three or more positive votes
have been garnered, lies with the individual serving as release
manager. The specifics of the process may vary from project to
project, but the 'minimum of three +1 votes' rule is universal.
</quote>

We have been always releasing voting on the plan. Can you lead to any

I'm sorry I totally missed this email, until the release was already
out, but I would of put out a -1.

You can't vote on a 'release plan' as the only part of a release.

You are welcome to have a 'release plan' vote, but you CANNOT release
artifacts without actually voting on THE FILES, not just a plan.

The 0.95 release had NO oversight over the actual tar balls, or the
exact version that was released.
