[jira] [Created] (ZEPPELIN-4596) Maven central now requires HTTPS

Tyler created ZEPPELIN-4596:
-------------------------------

Summary: Maven central now requires HTTPS
                 Key: ZEPPELIN-4596
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ZEPPELIN-4596
             Project: Zeppelin
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: conf
    Affects Versions: 0.8.2
         Environment: any.
            Reporter: Tyler
             Fix For: 0.9.0

Maven central now requires https. There are a lot of [http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/|https://repo1.maven.org/maven2/] spread throughout the configs and codebase, and they are almost impossible to get rid of. Even if I update the config files and force it into the interpreter menus, it looks like the http version keeps coming in from some compiled code and prevents dependencies from downloading.

This broke on January 15th, see https://support.sonatype.com/hc/en-us/articles/360041287334
