[jira] [Comment Edited] (AIRAVATA-3453) POC: web components for geochemsim supcrtbl2 app

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I've got a very simple experiment-editor web component that can construct an ExperimentModel instance, initializes the 'experiment-name' field and listens for updates, and saves the experiment when a save button is pressed. The 'experiment-name' is implemented as a slot so it could be replaced by a custom HTML code. Only two restrictions:
- JS code is needed to initialize it's value. The default slot content binds {{experiment.experimentName}} to the input, but a custom name component would need to handle initialization. (I expect to provide a utility or some way to make this pretty easy for custom code.)
- the name of the input needs to be 'experiment-name'. Any 'input' events from target with name 'experiment-name' are listened for by the experiment-editor and used to update {{experiment.experimentName}}.

Now that saving works, the next step is to try to edit an existing experiment with the same experiment-editor.

> To start with, develop a proof of concept set of web components to be used in porting the supcrtbl2 application user interface. The existing UI is php based. It uses a jquery plugin called [textcomplete|https://github.com/seanbollin/jquery-textcomplete], with suggestion values provided by a database query. The form hides and shows options based on selected values.
> TODO
> - [ ] a experiment-editor web component that can construct the ExperimentModel
> - [ ] handle experiment submission including allowing it to be cancelled if the form is invalid
> - [ ] implement a mechanism for initializing the experiment inputs based on an experiment experiment instance
