inside process for add new entry

hi,

using jetspeed open source, i use the mysql database. i create the new user.
now i want to add one more field at the time of new user creation. what are the changes i want 

to?  i did two changes
1.  i include new field in the table turbine_user
2.  in the velocity marco file, i get the text box and label information for that field.

what are remaining changes i will do?
 
i searched in the mailing list but i didn't get the complete idea.
