So I'm still a little confused. On what filesystem, in your example, are /tmp/foo and /tmp/bar? Are you suggesting that the patch should limit interoperability to the local filesystem? Or that the default unqualified file system should always be the local filesystem and that people should have to use fully qualified paths if they want something else?
