Sharan please move some more pages

Is there a way to move these pages
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OFBIZ/Import+Data+Using+Apache+POI+api
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OFBENDUSER/OFBiz%27s+Data+File+Tools
to be children of this page
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OFBIZ/Handling+of+External+data

Sharan,
I am trying to consolidate and normalize all of the various ways to get
external data into OFBiz.
There seems to be a lot of information in the wiki.
Some of it may be redundant or old or just not useful.
I am still trying to figure out how these 2 pages relate to the stuff
that is still on the Handling+of+External+data page.
In the end I want to have the Handling+of+External+data to be an
introductory page that introduces the various options and references a
child page for each of the alternatives.
I have partially straightened out the sections on legacy data (still
needs some rewording but at least the 2 alternatives are clearly
separated as 2 methods with their own page and moved it to 2 sub pages
where it can be fixed and amplified more easily.

The current structure and text is so confusing that I am not sure if the
remaining text on the Handling+of+External+data page describes 1 method
or 2 different ways to get data loaded.
The 2 pages to move have information that looks valuable to handling
external data but were created without reference to this the main
Handling+of+External+data page and seem to have redundancies between the
main page and these potential children.

At the end, I hope to have the whole story about handling external data
in one place with an introduction.

I have to start reading code and sample data to verify the information
in these pages and to understand what it should say.

Ron

Yes this was me, just before the title was "Mini Language (minilang) Reference Guide (Version
3)"<https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=50858836>
So I changed for "Mini Language Guide"
IIRW we changed this many times and I agree that "Mini Language Reference" is better!

I have added link to older deprecated versions, to clarify things

BTW Confluence sucks again, not only it's quite slow (minutes! to save this page), but when I tried to compare the page, after 10 seconds it says: too
long (In French) :(

Ha no even better after minutes, I got a "502 - Invalid or missing response from backend" and that was the 2nd time I tried to save this page, what to
say :/
Ha finally the page is saved, pfew...

This is a good point and I do agree with your definition of a guide.
I'll change it back to 'Reference'

Btw, one of the Wiki page titles has changed and the change makes things
more confusing (from my perspective):

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OFBADMIN/Mini+Language+Guide

The original title was "Mini-Language Reference" - because it is a
reference, not a guide.

I picture a guide being something like this:

--------------------
Introduction
(what is Mini-Language? Why does it exist?)
    ...
Getting Started
   ...
Debugging
   ...
Mini-Language Reference
   (link to the reference page)
--------------------

So, the Mini-Language Reference is a PART OF a guide, but it is not
itself a guide.

Hi Ron

Done - I've moved them for you and also thanks for working on this.

As a contributor I think you should have access to move pages about in
the Wiki. Just in case you're not familiar with it I've outlined the
main steps below:

1) Login into Confluence and go to the page you want to move
2) Click on the 'Tools' dropdown (it should be in the top right hand
part of the screen below your login)
3) Select 'Move' (it should be near the bottom of the drop down list)
4) It will ask you for a new parent page and there are a couple of ways
to select it.
5) The first is that you can start typing the name of the page and
Confluence will display a list of pages for you to choose from. The
second option is that if you go to the page you want to move it to
before you do the move, you can use the "Recently Viewed" link (on the
left hand side) which should show a list of pages.
6) Once you've selected the new parent page, click 'Move' again

If you have any problems or need any other help then please let me know.

Thanks
Sharan
