OT: Bad e-mail client/server

Show of hands:

How many people just received about 20 messages from the two weeks or so
with the following headers directly before their own MTA's Received line:

Received: by ppp-static-58.tis-dialog.ru (Postfix, from userid 0)
	id 7854DB6F5; Mon, 14 Feb 2005 20:18:17 +0200 (EET)
Delivery-Date: Tue, 08 Feb 2005 00:52:04 +0100
Received: from pop.kundenserver.de [212.227.15.181]
	by localhost with POP3 (fetchmail-6.2.5)
	for root@localhost (single-drop); Mon, 14 Feb 2005 20:18:17 +0200 (EET)
Received: from [64.125.132.240] (helo=tigris.org)
	by mxeu3.kundenserver.de with ESMTP (Nemesis),
	id 0MKqIe-1CyIfj3wSA-0000oe; Tue, 08 Feb 2005 00:52:03 +0100

These were all duplicates of messages already received. It looks like
the ppp-static-58.tis-dialog.ru box used POP to retrieve messages today
and then bounced them all to the recipients listed on the original message.

Anyone willing to own up to running ppp-static-58.tis-dialog.ru???

John

Same here. Yet another reason to reply only to the list and not to the
original poster. Fortunately, Mulberry has a recipient dialog that makes it
very easy to edit that.

Ooops! I got several, too Might that say something?

If, as I suspect, the misconfigured Postfix is resending the e-mails to
the original recipients. Every single message was one that had me as a
CC or To. I got 20 because I can't seem to shut up on this list! ;-)

Oops - I spoke too soon. Yes, I've just received two such old duplicates from
that server (but not twenty).

I haven't received any such duplicates. (I noticed maybe 5 or 10 individual
duplicate messages over the last year or so, but none recently.)

Yes, I got a bunch of those.
