Thanks for commenting :-).  I'm wondering if you could solve your issue right away by making use of the additional performance tuning parameters, already part of UIMA, when you set up your pipelines, to specify using an alternate JMX MBean Server?  See the last part of the docs http://uima.apache.org/d/uimaj-current/tutorials_and_users_guides.html#ugr.tug.application.jmx .

Anyways I thought it would be a good addition if we can enable/disable the registration on JMX using some additional parameter or property.
