[jira] [Created] (AIRFLOW-971) Remove mysql as a dependency when
not explicitly required
Ruslan Dautkhanov created AIRFLOW-971:
-----------------------------------------
Summary: Remove mysql as a dependency when not explicitly required
Key: AIRFLOW-971
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AIRFLOW-971
Project: Apache Airflow
Issue Type: Bug
Components: core, dependencies
Affects Versions: Airflow 1.8, Airflow 1.7.1
Environment: RHEL 6; Python 2.7
Reporter: Ruslan Dautkhanov
When trying to install Airflow using
{code}
pip install "airflow[devel_hadoop, crypto, jdbc, hdfs, hive, kerberos, ldap, password]"
{code}
pip also tries to install mysql as a dependency.
- First of all we don't need any mysql dependency
- Also `pip mysql` to build requires a local mysql installation and it may have its own issues like for example discussed in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5178292/pip-install-mysql-python-fails-with-environmenterror-mysql-config-not-found/
Please remove mysql as a dependency when not explicitly requested through airflow[mysql]
