document similarity in Mahout

Hi, 
I am new to Mahout and I need to know how can I use mahout to calculate
document similarity. 

Can any one provide me steps or is there any example in Mahout. 

 

I am working on windows environment and I don't want to use hadoop or
cygwin.

I will be helpful if I get  step by step guide to compute document
similarity using Mahout 0.3 on windows.

My input to compute similarity will be an XML file.
