DependTest and JDK 1.1

Is BCEL expected to work with JDK 1.1?

I get this:

    [junit] Testcase: testDirect(org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.optional.depend.DependTest):	FAILED
[junit] Depend did not leave correct number of files expected:<2> but was:<4>
