html5 target

Hi All,
has anyone started to work on the html5/js compiler?
Thanks in advance.
Filippo

Hi Filippo,

If you are referring to FalconJS, Adobe is working on that [1]. From
the Apache side, Michael Labriola is doing some compiler work, but I
am not sure to what extent regarding platform deployment / dsl...You
can search the mailing list for more details as well.

Regards,

JP

Filippo,

This may help:

http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/whitepapers/roadmap.html

" Falcon compiler contribution to Apache

Falcon 1.0 is the next generation compiler for ActionScript and is currently in development. Upon completion of the ActionScript portion of the compiler, Adobe will contribute Falcon 1.0 to the Apache Flex Project, which we expect will be in Q4 2012."

Hi Alex,
when do you think Adobe will donate it to Apache?
Is there any plan?
Thanks in advance.

The time differential between getting it legally cleared so Apache Flex can
look at it vs getting it donated is minimal.

I would rather not bother legal for NDAs just for this at this time.

And what about the idea to let Apache flex team get access to FalconJS
source code, before it has been officially donated?
It was asked at flex summit and Adobe seemed to be ok with that.

Falcon JS has not been donated to Apache yet. It will probably follow
Falcon since I think some parts rely on it.

Adobe Falcon JS has not been promised as a release.

Thanks to boths.
I thought Adobe already released FlaconJs to the Apache foundation.
Do you have any idea when is the Adobe FalconJS release date?

yes, Gordon Smith from adobe and maybe some other guys from adobe are
working on Falcon JS internally at adobe. Currently they're working
rather on AS3->HTML compiler than Flex->html compiler. When the
compiler falcon js would be donated, the framework can be extended /
rewrited in order to face the dual output challenge. More info:

and in some earlier posts.
