[jira] [Created] (CXF-4536) Java 1.5 not working in v2.7.0-SNAPSHOT

Shaun Elliott created CXF-4536:
----------------------------------

             Summary: Java 1.5 not working in v2.7.0-SNAPSHOT
                 Key: CXF-4536
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CXF-4536
             Project: CXF
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Core, JAX-WS Runtime, Transports
    Affects Versions: 2.7.0
            Reporter: Shaun Elliott
             Fix For: 2.7.0

Version 2.7.0 seems to be locked down to java 1.6+. Perhaps this is expected behavior, but if so I would think that would be a major level version change (eg: 3.0.0) as opposed to a minor.

Glen Mazza commented on CXF-4536:
---------------------------------

Starting in the upcoming 2.7.x -- the current production 2.6.x series, which should be supported and upgraded for at least the next 18 months (we're still supporting 2.4.x and 2.5.x), supports JDK 1.5.

------------------------------------

I guess this is expected?

{code}
 <cxf.jdk.version>1.6</cxf.jdk.version>
{code}

What version of CXF was this made standard?

This is as designed. 2.6.x will be the last series to support java 5.
