You mean just run the Makefile.PL to check the dependencies? Is there
anything in that package that isn't in cvs under the modperl-docs/lib
directory?
BTW, is DocSet a complete rewrite of Pod::HtmlPsPdf?

It doesn't matter, you can install DocSet as well. It's just that
modperl-docs/lib will have the latest code until DocSet gets formally
released. It's discussed here:

Yup, it's a complete rewrite, though a few functionalities weren't
ported yet. (Split documents and extended pod, see the DocSet/TODO)
