Endpoint instance

I was hoping to call setTargets on StaticRoutingSlip before passing a message
to it. I have two questions about this:

1. Is it possible to get a reference to an endpoint (to be able to call
public methods the endpoint is exposing).

2. If not, I would like to extend StaticRoutingSlip to add my functionality
but where do I specify that my class should be used when
eip:static-routing-slip is used?
