DASL questions

Hi there,

I got a few questions regarding DASL.

1) Is it possible to do nested and/or/etc queries, like this:
<D:searchrequest xmlns:D ="DAV:">
  <D:basicsearch>
    <D:select>
      <D:allprop/>
    </D:select>
    <D:from>
      <D:scope>
        <D:href></D:href>
      </D:scope>
    </D:from>
    <D:where>
      <D:and>
        <D:gt>
          <D:prop><D:some-property/></D:prop>
          <D:literal>A value</D:literal>
        </D:gt>
        <D:or>
          <D:eq>
            <D:prop><D:some-other-property/></D:prop>
            <D:literal>value</D:literal>
          </D:eq>
          <D:eq>
            <D:prop><D:yet-another-property/></D:prop>
            <D:literal>value</D:literal>
          </D:eq>
        </D:or>
      </D:and>
    </D:where>
    <D:orderby>
      ...
    </D:orderby>
    <D:limit>
      <D:nresults>x</D:nresults>
    </D:limit>
  </D:basicsearch>
</D:searchrequest>

I have rather hastily browsed through the documentation without finding any
information either way.

2) Is DAV:like (so we can do wildcard searches) still going to be in 2.2 of
Slide? When is 2.2 scheduled to be released? An updated roadmap could be
useful, or if that is too much work ... remove the old one (for 2.1).

Best regards,
Pontus Strand

Yes DASL allows this.

DAV:like is currently (i.e. on the CVS HEAD) only available for the
Lucene based indexer. I think for JDBC store this is currently not implemented.

Ok Carlos,

I'll check this firewall/proxy issue.

Thank you.

Claudio.

Re: Upload files from file system to slide/wedav server

One more important thing...It seemed to matter where I signed the jars. For
example, I signed them on my normal domain, moved the jars to another
testing domain and I had problems. When I ran my signing script again, it
worked without changing any other settings. Good luck.

Re: Upload files from file system to slide/wedav server

Posted by J H <do...@hotmail.com>.
I'm no expert...but here's what I experienced...

I created signed applets using the slide webdav libraries to download files
to the desktop and encountered some very similar problems.

I had to sign ALL of the dependant libraries, using the same keystore. I
had to have the certificate in the same directory as the main jar.

For the program jar and all of the library jars, I had to add them to the
html file using the full Web server path in the archive property of the
applet tag.

Re: Upload files from file system to slide/wedav server

Posted by Carlos Proal <ca...@mail.udlap.mx>.
Not really, besides the obvious things like using an IP that is not
resolved outside the LAN or using an alias name that doesnt match with
the real dns traslation.
But it seems more like a firewall problem; maybe on the server or maybe
on the client networks.

Ok, you're right about that!

About the firewall/proxy issue, I'm not sure right now, but I think I have
the same problem at home using a Modem connection withou any proxy or
firewall.. I'll try it later and I'll let you know ok.
So, assuming that proxy/firewall is not the problem, you can think of any
other approach to this problem?

Thanks again.

Claudio.

Ok, if you have signed it and in the console appears nothing, maybe is a
firewall/proxy issue, have you checked this too ??

Your english is ok, i speak spanish and you portuguese which are more
closer but we need to share with the rest of the world ;).

My applet is already signed, the first time it runs it asks me for the
certificate confirmation, etc, and I'm aware it runs in the client side, but
my question is, if it works in any machine over my LAN, why not over the
Internet once it is already started and my .java.policy allows it to do
everything.

About the exceptions, you mean, in the java console?

Thanks

Claudio.

PS. sorry my english!

Do you get any exception ??, through the Internet you must "sign" the
applet, your solution is a local implementation only, remeber the applet
runs in the client side.

Upload files from file system to slide/wedav server

Posted by Claudio Carvalho <cl...@powerlogic.com.br>.
Hi,

I'm using a signed applet to upload files from file system to slide/webdav
server, and I'm using the following .java.policy =>
grant {
  permission java.security.AllPermission;
};

So, when I run the applet through my LAN it works fine, but it doesn't work
over the Internet.

Does anybody know if it is a permission issue or something related to that?

Could it be anything related to Slide/webdav permissions or protocols?

Thanks.

Claudio.
