Subject: [PROPOSAL] Switch default branch name

I'd like to propose switching the default branch name from master to main.

I'll file a ticket with INFRA in a few days if I don't hear any
objections, and I'll take responsibility for the few tiny updates that
are needed in .travis.yml and README.md.
