[jira] Created: (MYFACES-250) Add configuration for an error page in the portlet bridge

Add configuration for an error page in the portlet bridge
---------------------------------------------------------

         Key: MYFACES-250
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-250
     Project: MyFaces
        Type: New Feature
    Versions: 1.0.9 beta
 Environment: Any
    Reporter: Gavin Cornwell
    Priority: Minor

When an error occurrs when running in a portlet the stack trace is simply output within the portlet. There is no hook point for handling the error as the portlet class is the MyFaces bridge.

I was therefore wondering whether it would be possible to add a configuration option (init-param) to the portlet.xml for the bridge to allow the specification of an error page. Then if an error occurrs during processAction or facesRender the configured page can be redirected/forwarded to.

[jira] Commented: (MYFACES-250) Add configuration for an error page in the portlet bridge

Stan Silvert commented on MYFACES-250:
--------------------------------------

I think it is a good idea. However, it sounds like something that should be handled by the portlet spec or as an added feature to the portal implementation.

Is there any reason why it needs to be handled at the JSF bridge level?
