modify hadoop-env.sh
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know how can I overwrite a hadoop-env property, namely the HADOOP_OPTS? All I’ve found so far is an issue https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-1535 which is not resolved, yet. If I manually edit the file Ambari resets it when I try to start the services. Maybe I could pick up the issue, but no target version set, yet.
Br,
Krisz

Hi Jeff,
Thank you for your answer. I’ll try it.

A better JIRA to follow is:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-5802 which will cover exposing
-env.sh files for editing like other configs in Ambari.
As for how to modify hadoop-env.sh in the meantime...
1. On the Ambari Server, browse to the stack definition (in this case, HDP
2.0, which is also inherited by HDP 2.1 Stack):
/var/lib/ambari-server/resources/stacks/HDP/2.0.6/hooks/before-START/templates
2. Modify the hadoop-env.sh.j2 template
3. Save and restart the Ambari Server. This will cause the Stack definition
to be re-loaded by the agents.
