For the C++ tests to run successfully the SASL mechanisms PLAIN and DIGEST-MD5 nned to be installed on the test machine. If they are not then instead of just skipping those tests that require them the tests fail.

If SASL support is not installed at all and not compiiled into qpid then some tests also fail rather than skip - this is confusing if you didn't want to configure in SASL support.
