Repost: ActionError without message key (urgent)
Can someone please help me with this??? Do I have to rewrite the
ActionError to do this?
--
Hi,
Is there a way to add an ActionError without using message key, and place it
in the request via SaveErrors? I'm executing a shell script from an action,
and would like to capture stderr and display to the user as an ActionError.
However, the ActionError messages are tied to the message key (defined in
the ApplicationResources.properties file as static text). Is there a
workaround?
Thanks for the help,
Scott

How about defining a message with the key "literal" and the value "{0}".
Then specify the message you want as a parameter when you add the
message to the queue.
Of course, this isn't what the designers intend. The point of
pulling the error messages together in ApplicationResources.properties
is to have the messages in one place so that you can make them
consistent, translate them, etc.
