[jira] [Created] (LOG4J2-828) Performance of Flume Appender

Bijith Kumar created LOG4J2-828:
-----------------------------------

             Summary: Performance of Flume Appender
                 Key: LOG4J2-828
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LOG4J2-828
             Project: Log4j 2
          Issue Type: Question
          Components: Flume Appender
    Affects Versions: 2.0.2
            Reporter: Bijith Kumar

Do we have any performance benchmark for flume appender?
For me, it seems to take around 1 to 2 milliseconds for each log message.
I tested both embedded and avro client modes. Avro client mode seems to be better than the embedded but still takes above 1 ms.
Increasing the batchSize doesn't show any difference too.
Just want to know if this is the expected performance or I am missing some configuration.
