Current Version of OpenOffice Writer:
Apache Open Office 4.1.1
AOO411m6(Build:9775)  -  Rev. 1617669
2014-08-13 09:06:54 (Mi, 13 Aug 2014)

My current system hardware is as follows:
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
AMD FX-6300 Six-Core Processor (~3.5GHz)
8GB DDR3 1333 RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7870 (approx. total memory 4GB)
Page File: 4155MB used, 12147MB available

When adding images to a document, OpenOffice writer will begin to slow down,
display a tear in the image when scrolling up and down over the image and, when
minimized and then re-opened, display of a black screen briefly before loading
up again.

Steps Performed.
1. Inserted up to five(5) pictures from local storage
2. At about the fourth insert minimizing OpenOffice writer and opening again
will cause a brief black screen display
3. Further inserting of images will increase the display of the black screen.

*Note: Each image inserted varied from 200kb to ~3500kb, also each image
appears to tear as you scroll past them in the program itself.
