I tried again with a fresh workspace to avoid the previous problem.
Steps:
1. Geronimo: New Server and Start
2. New dynamic web project "sample-ws"
3. Created plain class com.paraz.ws.Hello with method String greet(String)
4. New Web Service/Bottom Up for Hello
5. Next/Next and then Web Service Publication dialog
6. Publish - Could not publish to server

Thanks. Looks like you are running on Java 5. This may be the problem. You need to build and launch using 1.4.2
