Repro
1) invalidate metadata [TABLE_WITH_LOTS_OF_PARTITIONS]
2) explain select count(*) from [TABLE_WITH_LOTS_OF_PARTITIONS]
3) Try to cancel query from WebUI or by hitting Cntrl+C from impala-shell
4) Query continues to run
