BCB 5 fails to compile Xerces 1.4 library on Windows 2000

I have the same problem with Xerces-C version 1.5 (the BCB 4 projects).
I am running a v. 5.4 bcc32 compiler on a NT4 SP6a. I have tried both the
patches but none of them worked for the version 1.5 and supported environment
! (BCB 4 Update 2). My version of <tchar.h> is 9.5 Revision 9.16.1.0.1.0
