   If Hadoop 3.x "guarantees" the compatibility with 2.x, it seems unnecessary efforts to maintain both profiles, as we do with Kafka (we simply rely on the latest version of Kafka based on compatibility guarantee). My question was actually just about bumping Hadoop 2.x version, but looks like we have better option.
