External data file usage

Hi,

   How do i read all the data in an external data file from JMeter 
testplans? (instead of line by line)   By using 
${_StringFromFile(accounts.dat)}  i was able read line by line from external 
file.

   This is for usage with SOAP-RPC webservice, so was planning to store each 
scenarios (xmls) as seperate data files. Is there anyway i can do this? one 
workaround was to store the whole xml in one line, but the problem with that 
is i cannot share the same xml with other applications also looses the 
readability.

  Please let me know if there is a way i can do it.
